Imran Qadir - Head Coach & Owner of AQ Cricket Academy
Imran has an extensive background in cricket, having played at various levels including the Pakistan Under-15 and Under-19 teams, and has over 15 years of experience in England league cricket. As a seasoned coach, he has had the opportunity to work with internationally recognized players such as Imran Tahir. Currently, Imran is dedicated to coaching England’s Under-15 cricket players, leveraging his deep knowledge of the game to nurture emerging talent. His involvement with notable cricketers like Usman Qadir and Umar Akmal underscores his commitment to excellence and development in the sport.

The Legacy of Abdul Qadir Khan
Abdul Qadir Khan, born in Lahore in 1955, is celebrated as one of cricket’s greatest leg spinners, whose innovative techniques and charismatic presence have left a lasting impact on the sport. Throughout his illustrious career spanning from 1977 to 1993, Abdul Qadir represented Pakistan in 67 Test matches and 104 One Day Internationals, captivating fans worldwide with his skill and flair.
His most notable achievements include a staggering 236 Test wickets and 132 ODI wickets. Among his many feats, Qadir’s performance against England in 1987 stands out, where he claimed 30 wickets in just three Test matches, including Pakistan’s best bowling figures in a Test innings of nine wickets for 56 runs. This series not only cemented his reputation as a formidable bowler but also showcased his ability to single-handedly turn the tide of a match.
Beyond the cricket field, Abdul Qadir was known for his passion for nurturing young talent, which aligns with the ethos of AQ Cricket Academy. His legacy is not just built on his remarkable statistics but also on his commitment to the sport’s integrity and spirit. Abdul Qadir’s style, encompassing a variety of leg spins, googlies, flippers, and topspins, revolutionized leg-spin bowling, laying a foundational archetype for future generations.
In recognition of his contributions to cricket, Abdul Qadir Khan was posthumously inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame in 2022, an honor that reflects his status as an all-time great.
